I also stumbled upon fidget rings as a helpful alternative to cuticle picking. It isnāt a cure and I probably have permanent damage to my nails and cuticles. I found a pretty spinner on ring on the floor of the coffee shop where I worked just before the pandemic. I ended up getting to keep it since nobody else wanted it and the shop shut down a month later. Now I have purchased a variety of different spinner rings for my thumbs. Sometimes I wear two on each thumb. Sadly they draw attention to my hands. But in a way the attention has also helped me to start to *again* stop the habit. Sure, the inside of my cheeks are bloody pulps, but nobody sees that! So overall I think the fidget rings help me. Iām not sure what to do about the cheek biting, but one thing at a time. Right?
